Mrs Brown's Boys star Dermot O'Neill gets the all-clear from cancer

Wonderful news for the 67-year-old actor who plays the role of Grandad on the show. The 67-year-old actor, who plays the role of Grandad on the hugely popular sitcom, was concerned that he had suffered a relapse in recent weeks, however he has been given good news instead. Dermot explained that his neck was swollen, which forced him to pull out of appearing in the new series of All Round To Mrs Brown with his friend Brendan O'Carroll. In a sitcom crossover no one saw coming, Mrs Brown’s Boys revive Little Britain for a one-off skit as Matt Lucas appears on this week’s All Round To Mrs Brown’s. Matt, who founded Little Britain, sees double (or triple) on the chat show-turned-sitcom, as characters Buster (Danny O’Carroll) and Dermot (Paddy Houlihan) decide to dress up to him. As Agnes (Brendan O’Carroll) welcomes guests Matt and Mel B into the family home, the Little Britain music starts playing with Buster turning up dressed like Vicky Pollard. Matt and Mel’s appearances on the series is the latest in a line of a-listers to have a cuppa tea and a chat with the Irish matriarch and her family. The comedian, 64, his goodbyes to Fiona, who has been dubbed his "second mammy", in Canada last month. Speaking to the Irish Mirror, Brendan's other sister Eilish said: “I had been out there with her for Christmas but we didn’t manage to get out until the day after she died. “He (Brendan) was there to see her and got her talking and laughing and singing and I knew she was hanging on for him. “They were very close, she was like a second mammy. Very much so. For her I know it was her wish to see him and she did and that was lovely."
