Mrs Brown's Boys creator reveals plan for movie spin-off based on Buster and Dermot

Brendan O'Carroll is writing a spin-off film with his son Danny - and is certain it will be a success

Mrs Brown’s Boys creator Brendan O’Carroll has revealed he and son Danny are writing a movie based on the characters Buster and Dermot in the show.

Actors Danny O’Carroll and Paddy Houlihan play the pair who often get into scrapes dressed in bizarre outfits. Brendan, who stars as foul-mouthed Dublin matriarch Mrs Brown, said: “I think it’s going to be really, really successful.
“What is going to make it successful is that chemistry they have. There is something that they have that is very, very rare. You saw it in Morecambe and Wise.”

The original Mrs Brown’s Boys D’Movie took £23million in 2014. This year’s Christmas Day special centres around a bossy machine called Maggie, a knock-off version of Amazon’s Alexa in-house device.
Brendan, 63, revealed he refused to tone down the swearing when asked by the BBC in early meetings.
