Mrs. Brown’s Boys airs its annual Christmas special episode on BBC One on Christmas Day, and fans can expect to see a number of the show’s original cast returning for the festive edition. Led by Brendan O’Carroll as Agnes Brown, the Christmas special will follow Agnes as she enters a housekeeping competition in order to outdo rival Hilliary (Susie Blake). Agnes Brown – Brendan O’Carroll

O’Carroll, 63, first appeared as Agnes Brown on screen back in 2002 in the original series of Mrs. Brown’s Boys.

The first seven episodes of the original series were produced for a DVD release, which resulted in Mrs. Brown’s Boys being picked up for a regular television series by BBC One in 2011.

The Agnes Brown actor’s success has led to a number of spin-offs from the BBC series, including D’ Mrs. Brown’s Boys Movie and a sister show called All Round to Mrs. Brown’s.

Jennifer Gibney – Cathy Brown

Gibney is one of just five actors to have appeared in every episode of Mrs. Brown’s Boys since season one premiered in 2011.

Her appearance in the BBC One series led to her taking part in Strictly Come Dancing 2014 – she was eliminated in week three after being paired with pro dancer Tristan MacManus.

Grandad Brown – Dermot O’Neill

O’Neill is another actor to boast a 100 percent appearance record on Mrs. Brown’s Boys.

The actor has worked with the show for years, debuting on screen in the original series back in 2004.

Buster Brady – Danny O’Carroll

O’Carroll is another stalwart amongst the Mrs. Brown’s Boys cast having first appeared on the original series in 2002.

Since then he starred in D’ Mrs. Brown’s Boys Movie and took part in the Mrs. Brown’s Boys Live Tour.

Winnie McGoogan – Eilish O’Carroll

Besides Mrs. Brown’s Boys, the only other acting credit O’Carroll boasts is one in 2016 short comedy The Borning Diary of Frances Noone.

She’s worked with the show since 2002, appearing in every episode since.

Betty Brown – Amanda Woods

Woods’ acting CV is solely comprised of appearances on Mrs. Brown’s Boys and its numerous spin-offs.

The actress has been married to Mrs. Brown’s Boys co-star Danny O’Carroll since July 2007 and the pair share two children.

Mark Brown – Pat Shields

Another Mrs. Brown’s Boys regular, Shields’ acting career took off when he landed the role of Mark on the show.

He, like many of the other cast members, has starred in solely Mrs. Brown’s Boys based projects.
