Mrs Brown's Boys' Rory Cowan told ex-pal Twink 'to leave' his mother's funeral
Panto Queen Adele King, AKA Twink, says she left the church in tears after public spat with Rory Cowan
Devastated Rory Cowan asked former pal Twink to leave his mother's funeral when she turned up unannounced.
Irish entertainer Twink, whose real name is Adele King, tried to approach the former Mrs Brown's Boys star following the service, but was told to “go home”.
Rory later explained that he had “no time” for his ex-friend, claiming that she did not consider his feelings on what was bound to be a heartbreaking day.
Speaking to the Irish Mirror , Cowan said: "There has been bad blood between us for over a year now and there have been dreadful things said that can't be unsaid.
"She came over and tipped me on the shoulder and I told her: 'You shouldn't be here. This event is for family and friends and you are neither. Go home.'
"She would have known that I didn't want her there. She didn't consider my feelings at all.
"She was using my mother's funeral as a reason to reconcile and you just don't do that. I have no time for her."
Rory was attending his mother funeral mass in Dublin on Thursday when the exchange happened.
The devastated actor's mum Esther sadly passed away aged 85 on Monday.
Panto Queen Adele was one of hundreds of mourners who attended the service at the Church of the Ascension of the Lord in south Dublin.
She apparently said she drove home in tears after the exchange in front of a "packed" crowd.
She reportedly told the Irish Sun: "If you can’t offer an old friend sympathy on the death of their mother, there is no hope for anyone.
"I came out of the church and saw Rory standing at the back of his mother’s coffin. I would have gone around him but the crowd was too big. It was too narrow a margin to get by.
"I wasn’t going to go up to Rory but it was awkward to get out without going by him.
"I had my head down and I tapped his arm and told him, ‘You have my sympathies on Esther’.
“But Rory said, ‘That’s right, you just keep walking. You get out of here. This is for family and friends, you are not welcome here, go on, get out of here, keep walking.’
“There was a packed crowd around us. People thought he was joking but realised he wasn’t. I thought the ground would open up and swallow me.
“I had brought a little card which I never got to give to him. I was that upset I drove away from the church blinded with tears.”
Grieving Cowan spoke at the funeral mass and told mourners: "I'm so glad she was my mother".
Rory also shared a hilarious story about the time his mother met Cliff Richard and spent hours talking to him - about the trade union movement in Ireland.
He said: "She was chatting away to Cliff for hours and I was talking to everyone else and hoping that she wasn't boring him to death.
"I said to her afterwards 'what were you talking about?' and she said the trade union movement.
"He said 'no, I loved it. My whole life since 1959 is just talking about showbusiness. Your mother didn't mention it once.' That was like a breathe of fresh air to him."
He added: "That was my mother. What happened outside her window, it didn't matter because she would talk about what she knew about. She would talk about her family, because she loved her family."
