Mrs Brown’s Boys star Brendan O’Carroll lands new role as host of BBC One quiz show For Facts Sake




Brendan O’Carroll has got himself a new job as the host of a quiz show on BBC One. The new show, called “For Facts Sake” after O’Carroll’s Mrs Brown’s Boys “feckin'” catchphrases, is intended to represent “ordinary people and their extraordinary facts”. It will see two teams competing against each other, with each team captained by a rotating cast of Mrs Brown’s Boys’ regulars. Other members of the panel will be made up of the show’s audience.



‘I don’t have to wear a bra!’ 

Speaking about his new gig Brendon, 62, said “I’m really excited to be doing a show where I don’t have to wear a bra! “When we did the pilot it was great fun. If we can capture that on the screen we are all in for a good time.”

In fact, Mrs Brown’s Boys has proved so enduring it was recently made into a film – Mrs Brown’s Boyd D’Movie. ‘Extremely funny’ BBC director of content Charlotte Moore said: “I can’t wait for Brendan O’Carroll to bring his own inimitable warmth and wit to a brand new comedy panel show for BBC One.” Entertainment commissioning controller Kate Phillips said: “Brendan is extremely funny but also extremely curious and I know our viewers will have a ball laughing and learning with him.” The new series is set to air later this year.
