Tradition and Culture, My Arse

I know some of you will turn this video off or close this link down, because the film will upset you. But it’s not the film that is the problem. It’s what’s happening in it that’s the problem. Be upset that this is happening in Spain, for entertainment. The bull was tied up, his horns set on fire and the terrified bull ran into a post and died. And all in the name of entertainment?
If you saw your child killing a cat or a bird you’d whisk the boy or girl off to a doctor to see what would make him/her do such a thing. You’d worry yourself sick that this cruelty to animals was a sign of something terribly wrong in your son or daughter and you’d do everything in your power to fix your child’s problem.
Yet when it comes to bullfighting, running with bulls, or killing bulls in arenas it’s seen as sport, or culture or tradition. It’s not any of those things. Saying it’s the culture there, or tradition, is not true. FGM and arranged marriages, we are told, are examples of culture and tradition. We don’t accept those and there’s laws against them. We shouldn’t accept the killing of bulls, like this, as culture or tradition either. And it’s certainly not sport. The bull doesn’t stand a chance and is not a willing participant in it. To make a sport of taking the life of an animal is not acting reasonably.
Why do people feel the need to behave like this. These people who carried out this assault on the bull, and those who were entertained by it, are more savage than any animal I can think of. It really sickens me to see such unnecessary cruelty. These people have no hearts.

  1. Hi Rory,

This is not entertainment or sport at all, this is outright cruel in any culture. People who do these kinds of things be it a human or animal are lacking in moral turpitude and have no compassion. This is below disgusting and I do not care what is acceptable in any country. To treat any living thing in this fashion is immoral and vulgar. You have to care about what we have on earth be it a animal or human or anything else for that matter, if you have no heart, love or compassion then you have a empty soul. I agree with you, this is very very wrong....... Just call me Ivan of the USA
