Rory Cowan performed with the cast for the final time yesterday as Dublin comic O'Carroll revealed they have a treat in store for fans at Christmas
BRENDAN O’Carroll has reassured worried Mrs Brown’s Boys fans that none of the rest of the cast will be leaving the hit show.
Longtime star Rory Cowan performed with the cast in London for the final time yesterday in London as he bowed out after 26 years with the production.
The 57-year-old, who played Agnes Brown’s hairdresser son gave O’Carroll his notice last month as he “hadn’t been happy for a while”.
But fans were quick to check there would be no other departures from the much-loved cast.
One fan tweeted: “Please don’t say @mrgaryhollywood @paddyhoulihan @ReddinDerek @OCarrollFiona or anybody else is leaving @MrsBrownsBoys I couldn’t bear it ”.
Brendan was quick to respond: “No Shaun. We will all be there, to entertain YOU and give you a few laughs x”.
Another fan added: “Tie them all into at least a 30 year contract and pretend to Rory he signed one so he can’t go ”.
Brendan said he “wished” news of Rory’s departure was a joke when one fan asked: “Can I just ask is it TRUE @1rorycowan AND Grandad are both leaving M.b.b as I thought grandad was a rumour @BbMrsbrownsboys @brendanMrsBrown”.
But he remained tight-lipped over a surprise the gang have tucked up their sleeves for the Christmas special later this year when asked who might replace Cowan.
The Finglas comic wrote: “It’s a surprise that will be revealed in this years Christmas Day special. ”.

Twitter user @JadeLMazby added: “No one can replace Rory . He’s literally the best person to play his character. He’s gonna be seriously missed .”, to which Brendan replied “You bet!!!”
Fellow Mrs Brown’s Boys stars paid tribute to Cowan after he took to the stage for their live shows for the final time.
