BRENDAN O’Carroll hopes Rory Cowan’s departure from Mrs Brown’s Boys will give him space to “find some peace” in his life.
The BBC star spoke after a week of interviews in which former castmate Rory revealed what sparked his shock exit.

Rory had also told how boss Brendan stayed silent when he handed in his notice after 26 years together.
However Brendan, 61, only has love for his former manager.
He told the Irish Sun: “Rory has had a lot to juggle in the last couple of years what with the Mrs Brown’s Boys TV shows, the live tours, Gogglebox and his many TV, radio and print interviews and all while coping with the terrible illness of his mother Esther.
“I hope his departure from Mrs. Brown’s Boys will give him the time and space to find some peace and calm in his life.”
Rory, 59, revealed last week how he had been unable to return from being on tour in Australia when told his mother only had days to live.
He said: “She (my mother) collapsed and was taken to hospital. They thought she had a stroke. They didn’t realise it was dementia.

“My sister told the doctors she had a brother in Australia and they said tell me to come home.
“But I couldn’t leave the show. What I was told was that the insurers were very sorry that she was sick but that if she dies, I can leave the show for a week.

“Luckily she didn’t die but they told me that if someone is sick, it isn’t an excuse to leave the show.”
The former DJ has spoken previously about the effect his mother’s illness had on him.
Rory said: “Initially I thought this was why I wasn’t happy but it wasn’t.
“It came along at the same time as I wasn’t happy with Mrs Brown’s Boys and it just made things worse.”
